Epistemology Research Group
In IPM’s Epistemology Research Group, we explore new trends in epistemology. Currently, we are focused on the epistemology of inquiry (zetetics). More specifically, we are interested in the following questions:
- What are the norms of inquiry and how do they relate to more familiar epistemic norms?
- What is the aim of inquiry?
- Do we need a zetetic turn in epistemology?
- Do different kinds of inquiry (epistemic, moral, aesthetic, religious, etc.) have distinctive features?
- How does epistemology of inquiry relate to other epistemic issues, such as disagreement, understanding, and reasoning?
Activities and Plans:
- A reading group held weekly on Sundays, 16:00-18:30 (Tehran Time, GMT +3:30), where the most important texts are discussed.
- A one-day workshop on the “epistemology of inquiry” to be held in Fall 2025.
